- West Bengal State Cooperative Housing Federation Ltd. herei n after mentioned as HOUSFED, was registered in the year 1965. (Formerly it was known as West Bengal State Housing Finance Co-operative Society Ltd.). In the middle of twenti eth century when there was no place to get the financial support to bui ld a house, then this HOUSFED was the last resort for middle income people.
West Bengal State Cooperative Housing Federation Ltd. came into existence on 25.09.1965 but actual operation commenced in the year 1966.
The Federation was established to supervise, coordinate and extend financial assistance to Primary Cooperative Housing Societies formed in the State of W.B. - under the aegis of Cooperation Department, Govt. of W.B.
We accommodated house building loan through Cooperative Housing Societies even when there was no institution who channelize House Building Loan for common and downtrodden people in the State of West Bengal.
our achievements
- From 2000, it's started providing the.house building loan to the individual members also. we have near about 850 individual Nominal members as on 31.03 .2023.

Total no. of Primary Housing Coop. Societies affiliated with Housfed since 1965: More than 1000
Total amount of release of fund by Housfed since 1965: - More than Rs. 100 crores.
Now it's have total 12 branches + Head Office in all over the West Bengal such as :-
Kolkata ,24 Pgs, Ranaghat, Serampur, Tamluk, Medinipur, Bardhaman, Asansol, Durgapur, Berhampur, Maida, Siliguri.(Kolkata & 24 PGS br. are attached with Head Office)
